Hyde Park was once one of the hunting forests of King Henery VIII. Now over 340 acres of Royal Park where the publc can relax or even ride. With boating (Hire) and a Lido on the Serpentine Lake where swimming is encouraged.

Meander through the tranquil Rose Garden close to Albert Gate.
There are a couple of cafes and a restuarant in Hyde Park, a bird sanctuary and bandstand. There are also a number of fine statues, ornate gates and plenty of wildife in Hyde Park.
The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain is positioned close to the Serpentine Lake near The Ring (road) the opposite side of the road to The Serpentinr Gallery.
You will see a detachment of the Household Cavalry heading off along Rotten Row towards Hyde Park Corner (Through The Wellington Arch - Along Constitution Hill, down The Mall to Horse Guards Road) for Changing of The Guard at Horse Guards at about 10.00 each morning and the returnind guard about 12.00
