Thames Barrier, Woolwich. One of the most important British engineering feats of the twentieth century. The huge gates of the Thames Flood Barrier close on surge tides from the North Sea to protect central London from the threat of possible flooding

Thames Flood Barrier Visitor Centre entrance and parking charges apply.

Opening times for the Thames Flood Barrier Information Centre and cafe are: Thursday to Sunday, 10.30am to 5pm. Last admission at 4.30pm.

The prices have stayed the same at: £3.50 for adults, £3 for seniors or students, £2 for children and £9 for families (up to 2 adults and 3 children).
