Photo OpportunityThe Queen's House, Romney Road, Greenwich, London SE10 is positioned next to the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. This fine restored neo-classical Italianate villa style building designed by Inigo Jones for Queen Anne of Denmark, the wife of King James I, who died before the building was completed. Queen Henrietta Maria the French wife of King Charles I was the inheritor.

The Queen's House now houses a few pieces of period furniture and a fine collection of art belonging to the National maritime Museum. The Queen's House was probably the first neo-classical building in Britain. The building was completed in 1616. An unusual feature is the centrally unsupported spiral staircase, that was the first in Britain.
